Gore-tex — the leader among membrane fabrics

Gore-tex fabric can be either two-layer — this type of membrane is used in lined products — or three-layer, where an outer fabric, a membrane (laminated onto the outer fabric), and an inner fabric (lining to protect the membrane) are used. The Gore-tex membrane is made of fluoroplastic (Teflon). The main properties of the material are water resistance (W/P mm) and vapor permeability M/P g/m²/24 hours. This membrane is a very thin fluoroplastic film and has a large number of holes per unit area (about 1.4 billion pores per 1 cm²).
